Deep Cleaning vs. Regular Cleaning: Which One Does Your Home Need?

Professional cleaner detail-wiping kitchen counters during a deep clean

"Do I need a deep clean or a regular clean?" is the most common question we hear from new clients. The honest answer: it depends on when the home was last cleaned thoroughly - not when it was last tidied.

What a regular clean covers

A regular (maintenance) clean keeps an already-clean home at its best: kitchens and bathrooms cleaned and sanitized, dusting throughout, vacuuming and mopping, trash removed, beds made. It is designed for weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly visits.

What a deep clean adds

  • Baseboards, door frames, and window sills hand-wiped
  • Inside the microwave and detail work on appliance exteriors
  • Buildup removed from bathroom tile, grout lines, and fixtures
  • Behind and under furniture that can be moved safely
  • Extra time in kitchens and bathrooms, where grime accumulates

How to decide

If it has been more than a month or two since a thorough clean, start with a deep clean. It resets the home so that recurring visits stay quick, consistent, and less expensive over time. Most of our recurring clients began with exactly one deep clean.
